“I have visited Eco Expo Asia once in the past and I could tell both the organisation and scale of the show have grown a lot. My company is one of the top five contractors in Japan and we make efforts to promote recycling and protect the environment. I was sourcing green building materials for construction projects in Japan, including offices, medical centres and residential buildings. I have met some suppliers based in Hong Kong with their materials manufactured in the Chinese mainland. The cost was relatively low while the quality seems high, and hopefully I can import them to Japan. The fair is also a good platform where I can learn more about the market trends as well as new technologies and products in the environmental protection industry. I will come for sourcing again in the future.”
Yasuhisa Shimura, General Manager, Procurement Strategy & Planning Department,
Procurement & Estimation Center, Shimizu Corporation

“This is my first visit at Eco Expo Asia. I am here to look for eco products that can be used in IT systems. I think the show is very successful. The products and technologies displayed are diversified and comprehensive, ranging from automotive to sewage systems. The arrangement of the fair is visitor-friendly and I am especially impressed by the VIP tours. I joined one of the tours and got to learn more about the latest development of the industry, and state-of-the-art technologies offered by different exhibitors. As a buyer, the tour definitely helps save our time of sourcing. I also attended Eco Asia Conference with topics in Green Building, and am particularly interested in the topic of “Vertical Greening: Efforts and Hurdles”. This is a fruitful trip for me.”
Joshua, Wong Kwok-leung, Systems Manager, Home Affairs Bureau,
The Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region

“I come with some other members of the Hotel Purchasing & Supplying Association. My objective was to source eco-friendly products and energy efficient solutions for the chain hotels of my company. The trip was well organised and I have met a number of selected suppliers of an array of products and solutions which I am interested. I was particularly impressed with an anti-fungal coating from a supplier in Hong Kong that can be applied to the swimming pools. We may close the deal with them soon after we go back to Shenzhen. The effectiveness of the business matching session and quality of suppliers were well out of my expectation. I will be pleased to come again for sourcing.”
Jimmy Wu, Purchasing Manager, St Regis, the Chinese mainland

Hear what exhibitors say
“BEST is an expert in real-time energy efficiency management systems and has entered the Malaysian market since mid-2012. For now we have successfully maintained a good level of business in Malaysia, and we believe that this is the right time to expand our business to other Southeast Asian markets. We chose Eco Expo Asia as a starting point and we believe that this fair is an ideal platform to introduce our products and concepts to companies in Hong Kong, the Chinese mainland, Indonesia, the Philippines and Singapore. We are pleased to have acquired more than 40 contacts in only a day and some of them have come back to us, hoping for further cooperation. We sold our samples to a couple of interested companies who wished to install and carry out tests on our systems before the show ends. They are from Hong Kong, Egypt, Portugal and some other South African countries. We are amused with the quality of Hong Kong local and international visitors. They are not only knowledgeable but also from senior management and decision making levels, making the leads even more potential for business.”
Tim McMahon, Commercial Director, British Energy Saving Technology (BEST), the UK

“Eco Expo Asia is our first trade fair in Hong Kong. We are here to launch our new product, Horizontal Axis Wind Turbines, an innovative wind power generator which works with very low wind speed and multi wind directions. We wish to introduce this to Hong Kong and other Southeast Asian countries, such as Indonesia, Malaysia and Vietnam. We are looking for companies with large-scale projects as well as government officials who are interested in installing wind power generators on infrastructures, like on high-ways, to produce electricity for street lights or other facilities. We have generated a satisfactory amount of good leads not only from Hong Kong but also from Canada, Iran, Turkey and some other European countries. Moreover, we are pleased to have met some exhibitors with lighting and solar energy products, which are possibly combined with our turbines and even better the energy efficiency concept of our turbines. The show is a remarkable networking platform.”
Michael Win, Senior Marketing / Management Team, Eurolite Technologies Pte Ltd

“We decided to participate at the show mainly due to Hong Kong government’s initiative to phase out Pre-Euro IV diesel commercial vehicles. Through Eco Expo Asia, we hope to promote our company’s line of commercial and consumer hybrid vehicles. Our target buyers are actually both the visitors as well as exhibitors at the show. We are pleased with the results as many people stopped by our booth and showed genuine interest in our vehicles. We are also able to draw the attention of overseas buyers, particularly in countries and regions where hybrid trucks are not available. The show acted as a stepping stone for promoting our products in western countries where hybrid trucks aren’t introduced. Overall, I was pleased with the organisation as well as the visitor flow of the show.”
Kitty Lee, Senior Marketing Officer, Commercial Vehicles, Crown Motors Ltd

1/11 (Day 4) – Green Living
Public education on environmental protection is crucial for environmental sustainability. Therefore, the fair is open to the general public on the final day. Younger generations can raise their awareness and improve perception of environmental protection through interactive workshops and forums.

“Green Mart” is also available for exhibitors to showcase latest innovations and organic products to enrich visitors’ experience.
