Your gateway to the rapidly growing environmental protection markets
With the commitment of the Chinese mainland government to cut its carbon intensity by 40 - 45% in 2020 from 2005 level, the government will need to invest US$30 billion annually. The National Development and Reform Commission announced that a carbon reduction plan will be incorporated in the 12th Five-Year Plan (2011 - 15). The development of 'Low Carbon Economy' and renewable energy will be the main focuses which further spending of approximately US$147 billion annually will be required until 2050.
The tough environmental challenges emerged in the South East Asian region resulted from the rapid economic development leads to increasing demands of environmental tools. The region is now in need of ways to improve their technological know-how and management of resources.
The Hong Kong government is working closely together with the Guangdong provincial government on the Chinese mainland to transform the Pearl River Delta region into a 'Quality Green Living Area'. With a population more than 48 million, it is forecasted that the market size for environmental technology, goods and services in the PRD is about US$12 billion by 2018.
Hong Kong's close proximity to the Chinese mainland and the rest of Asia makes Eco Expo Asia the ideal trading platform for manufacturers and suppliers of environmental technologies and solutions wanting to gain a foothold in these fast growing eco markets.
