| November 11, 2009, Hong Kong -- |
Co-organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council and Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, the 4th Eco Expo Asia closed successfully on 31 October 2009. Under the theme of “Developing the Pearl River Delta Region into a Green and Quality Living Area”, the four-day exhibition attracted 10,102 industry practitioners altogether, representing a 67% increase over 2008. This highlights the significance of environmental protection among all countries. Featuring 200 exhibitors from 19 countries and regions, this year’s event went beyond the business-to-business (B2B) level to cover the business-to-customer (B2C) and business-to-government (B2G) areas. In short, environmental protection has become a global concern, and local green businesses are presented with an excellent opportunity to expand their presence across international markets.
Eco Expo Asia was open to general admission on 31 October, which enabled members of the public to see and use a wide range of green products. The debut of test drive/ride on electric vehicle MyCar, which are jointly developed by the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and local SME EuAuto Technology Limited, attracted some 160 registered public to take a drive/ride. Also held together with the fair, the HSBC Eco Asia Conference ran a series of seminars on “Green Production”, “Green Transportation” and “Green Building”. Leveraging this platform, government officials, business representatives and eco experts gathered to share their insights and experiences. |
