Eco Expo Asia – International Trade Fair on Environmental Protection opened yesterday at AsiaWorld-Expo. After the opening remark by guest of honour, Mr. Edward Yau, Secretary for the Environment of the HKSARG, the fair was declared open for business.

The Honourable Edward Yau was then joined by other VIPs on a tour of the fairground.

  Bamboo Promenade
This specially-designed entrance décor attracted visitors’ attention the moment they entered Eco Expo Asia. Sponsored by HSBC and the Airport Authority Hong Kong, Bamboo Promenade is designed by the Hong Kong Design Institute and the Vocational Training Council and also supported by the Federation of Hong Kong Industries. All the bamboos will be given a new lease of life after the fair and planted at the Hong Kong International Airport, very much in keeping with its sustainable nature.

Exhibiting at Eco Expo Asia for a fifth consecutive year is Charankattu, India’s largest manufacturer and exporter of coir geotextile products. Mr Devaraj said: “We have had a good start to this year’s show. This is just the first morning and we have already met with customers from Australia, Guatemala and the USA who are interested in our CCM-Coir Geotextiles.”
